Battery maintenance product???

September 2nd, 2010

I have several summer/rv vehicles/craft and have a hard time starting
them when the
new season comes around.  I’m tired of jump-starting and buying new
batteries (mostly 12V batteries) for each of these vehicles.

Does anyone know of a product that maintains your batteries while the
vehicle is in storage?
Also, how do you mount it (I have limited storage space!).

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Online Auto purchasing sites???

September 2nd, 2010

I have been told that the best way to purchase a vehicle these days is through
online brokers(of sorts).  Seems you can eliminate some cost and haggling. Can
anyone recommend a site or sites, or provide ipinions/experiences doing this?
Thanks

Does plugging a tire work?

September 2nd, 2010

My wife has a flat. She picked up a deck screw. (dough! probably one of mine
from the driveway!!)
Good tread on the tire and the car will be sold in a couple of months.(1988
Toyota corolla with 170,000 miles) I don’t want to spend money on a tire if
I don’t have to. Has anyone used the tire repair kits they sell at the auto
part store? Is it easy to do and do they last?

Thanks
Steve

Mitsubishi Mirage (Lancer) vs Toyota Corolla

September 2nd, 2010

Hi all,
I found the interior of the Mirage is nicer than the Corolla, and the
styling is more sporty.  The Mirage pick-up was pretty good too.

The Corolla has reputation of durability and high resale value (both of
which does not show in a test drive).  Comfort was there but it does
not really seem to accelerate….

Static electricity

September 2nd, 2010

I’m not sure this is the best group to post this question, so if not,
I’m sorry.

My 1999 Honda Civic ValuPak keeps shocking me w/static electricity built
up from driving.  I’m the only person it does it to on a regular basis.
I thought it would go away (as static usually does) after winter was
over…but it is still zapping me.  Is there any  way I can prevent
this?

Thanks,
Mike

Leaking Rim – HELP!!!

September 2nd, 2010

I have a GM OEM 16 inch – 8 lug rim which leaks.  The flange is riveted to
the rim in four locations by three rivets each.  A few of these rivets are
leaking ever so slightly.  I thought my tire or bead was leaking, but found
out the rim was leaking after immersing it.

Is this rim history or can it be sealed?  If so, what should I use?  I was
thinking of trying silicon or permatex over the leaking rivets on the
inside.

Has anyone had any similar experiences and fixes?  Inquiring minds want to
know.

Thanks in advance.
